Better Infrastructure, Better Campus
In order to continue improvements to the chilled water distribution system, I&S will be executing a scheduled partial outage to chilled water service over the spring break period.
Beginning 6 a.m. on Sat., March 15, chilled water service to the Klaus Advanced Computing Building and the Cherry Emerson Building will be suspended. Service is expected to be restored no later than 6 p.m. on Fri., March 21.
Additionally the Curran Street residence hall construction project will be leveraging this period to tie into the campus distribution system. Plans for that work will disrupt service to the Eighth Street Apartments and the Woodruff North and South residence halls.
While not anticipated, contingency plans for that work could require a west campus outage on Mon., March 17. In such an event, I&S would utilize newly installed valves to isolate the west campus distribution with a disruption of service, for no more than one day, to:
- West campus residence halls (specific building information is forthcoming)
- West Village Dining
- J. Allen Couch Building
- Paper Tricentennial Building
- Georgia Tech Police Department Building
Should this occur, stakeholders will be notified via the Office of Emergency Management via email.
