Bike and traffic flow will be affected on Fifth Street around Tech Square Phase 3 construction site for utility investigation work.

There is upcoming utility work planned for the Tech Square 3 construction site on Fifth Street between Spring and W Peachtree. 

UPCOMING UTILITY INVESTIGATIVE WORK

• Below grade investigative work is anticipated to begin on Dec.18 in the South lane of 5th Street. Please note this will result in a lane closure for the south side of Fifth Street between Spring Street and West Peachtree Street for approximately ten days.

• Upon completion of South Lane investigative work, North Lane investigative work will begin. This will result in a lane closure for the north side of Fifth Street between Spring Street and W. Peachtree Street for approximately ten days.

• Investigative work will take place from the hours of 9am-4pm ET. Normal traffic will resume outside the hours of 9am - 4pm ET.

• All of the Fifth Street Investigative work (South and North Lanes) is anticipated to be complete on, or near, Jan. 8, 2024. (A three-moratorium is in effect from the DOT for the holidays during the week of Dec. 25.)

• Once investigative work has concluded on Fifth Street, additional work will commence on Biltmore Avenue lasting approximately 2 weeks.

 

UPCOMING UTILITY WORK

• Georgia Tech anticipates the subsequent installation and utility work in Fifth Street to take place in middle to late January. Precise dates have not been established at this time.

• The installation and utility work on Fifth Street may result in 24-hour closure of lanes and the north sidewalk. Additional communications will be circulated prior to 24-hour closures.
